Make a difference in Community Safety!

 

The Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake is seeking a dedicated Community Representative from the Municipality of Red Lake to serve on a five (5) member board. The appointment will be concurrent with the term of Council, which ends on November 14, 2026, and includes an opportunity for reappointment.

A criminal reference check will be required for the successful candidate following the appointment as well as mandatory board training.

As a Board member, you will play an important role in advancing community safety. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and monitoring the OPP Detachment Commander’s Local Action Plan, supporting the development of board policies and contributing to the Board’s statutory mandate under the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 (CSPA).

The following are ineligible to be members of the Board:

  1. Judges or justices of the peace.
  2. Police service members, special constables, or First Nation Officers.
  3. Criminal defense counsel or prosecutors.
  4. Municipal employees of The Corporation of the Municipality of Red Lake.
  5. Directors, officers, or employees of a prescribed policing provider.
  6. Former police service members who served in the local Detachment area.

Submit a Letter of Interest outlining your competencies and attributes (as outlined in the “Competencies and Attributes Model Profile”.

Please send your letter to municipality@redlake.ca or deliver it to the municipal office, Attention: Christine Goulet, Municipal Clerk, at 2 Fifth Street, P.O. Box 1000, Balmertown, ON, P0V 1C0. Submissions shall be received no later than March 9, 2026, at 12:00 Noon.
